I woke up and my parents said our AC broke. It already feels like 95°F outside according to my phone. The current temperature in the house is 75°F. I’ve got my fan on the highest setting and my shades/curtains are shut. The hard part is we’re going out of town today so I can’t check on them. I’m really nervous. Are there any more tips that I can help the piggies stay cool?

We freeze water filled plastic bottles and wrap them in towels or pop them in old socks. Not all piggies take to them, but better than nothing at all. We’ve also tried filling shallow bowls with water and putting chopped veggies in the middle, the boys completely ignored them

It’s now 23:49 and I’ve put the fan on for the piggies for the first time in about a year as it’s apparently still 25 degrees in the house. I’m gonna stay in the room with them for a bit to make sure the fan doesn’t explode as it’s making a bit of a funny noise, probably due to the fact it hasn’t been on in ages. The poor pigs seem a bit weary of it atm. It looks like the weird metal thing from Thor 😄 water bottles are in the freezer for use tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the advice :) Before I went out of town I put ice packs (both wrapped in towels) in the cages and I definitely think it helped. Cocoa enjoyed laying on hers. Someone's coming over tomorrow to look at our AC so hopefully they'll be able to fix it!
