Saw in another thread on here someone mentioned The Hay Experts. Went to look and boy does it look lovely!

What accessories and treats etc do you have / give your guineas?! Ours must be very deprived! (Although they have a lovely big hutch and attached run, endless fresh veg and lots of cuddles so I won't feel too guilty!) But my daughter is always nagging me to buy "treats" in pet shops and I won't as they seem so artificial. Is the stuff on this store as natural as it appears?

What would you recommend?

treats with honey, egg, seeds, nuts, molasses and colours are awful.
I reccomend dried grasses, differant hays and herbs :D
The bordem breaker's naturals range isn't very good either, alot of the products are binded with egg, egg isn't too good for piggies.
Most pigs don't play with toys either, if you want to give them a treat give them a cardboard box lol

pampered piggies is the best bet for nice natural treats

what would you recomend to non UK people? as postage from UK to oz would cost more than the products and i don't think it would get pass customs :o :o :o the only treats in south oz are the ones people say are big no no's O0

I have tried loads of treats that hook on to the side of the cage and do they get eaten? Nope, not even nibbled! ::)

The best "treats" that I have bought and that have been appreciated by my piggies is dried dandelion, dried carrots and Timothy hay. All from my vets .. obviously at a premium price. I am going to have a look at Pampered Piggies in a minute! 8)

Choloe, Pampered Piggies ship ot of the UK, I sent someone a present from Pampered Piggies and they live in San Diego :)

yes i know this, but say something from P&P is 8 pounds to convert that into AUD would be close to $20.00 then say postage is 12.95 pounds that is close to $30.00 so for a item which is 8 pounds would end up costing me $50.00 or close to 30 pounds and that is if it can get through customs here in oz O0 so to buy from P&P just would not be worth it for me here in oz :( :( :( good luck to those of you that can as P&P and G&G are two great sites for piggies :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Thanks for the replies. OK - so if I have £20 to spend on my piggies what would you suggest? There are so many lovely things on there! Will also post on the feeding forum as am interested in the hay / herb mixes but don't know what is best!

Wilkinsons do a mini-range of dried leaves/grasses. Raspberry & Blackberry Leaves, Dandelion & Nettle & Coneflower & Green Oat (i think) - they're £1.79 for 100g bag & contain no egg, nuts etc :)

Best thing to spoil your piggy with is healthy food that they are allowed to eat.
Mine for example get banana, apple, strawberry etc. for a treat and not as regular as they would probably like it! A different hay variety, some grass.
As for toys, they seldom "play" with toys as such....I stuff some grass in the loo-rolls and have them in the hutch.... A metal ball with different hay stuffed into it for a change and for exercise. A different house (hidey hole).
And of course lots of cuddles and attention.
