It was supposed to get .1 gram for 3 days in a row. It was wiggling and the syringe slid to easy and pretty much gave him the whole .3 gram. Will he die?

I'm freaking out

Hi!

Please keep an eye on him in the next 24 hours and see a vet asap if he is suddenly not looking right. You may also want to ring your prescribing vet clinic for more advice. Like all rodents, guinea pigs don't have a vomit reflex, so everything has to come out the other end.

What has the panacur been prescribed for? Since worms are actually rare in guinea pigs.

Panacur is really not for piggies... googling it I can see some absolute rubbish about it "balancing gut flora" but that is absolute fake news tripe... panacur contains fenbendazole which kills some gastrointestinal nematode parasites in animals such as sheep or dogs, which is something piggies very rarely suffer from... unless a vet prescribed this to treat a very specific and rare infection then it is a big danger to your piggy! Please see a vet!

Don't worry. I have done the same thing with my guinea pigs. My vet recommended on giving my pigs a small dosage of this multi cat stuff to put on the base of their necks for precautions for mites and lice. I actually did my first dosage a few days ago and put too much but they were just fine. The smell of the product stops them from licking or chewing on it. Keep an eye on them because that's what I did but they will be okay :)
