Hi All,

Well I've decided to adapt my Nero 3's to give an upstairs of 2 foot using C&C. Does this sound ok? I just thought if I added an upstairs then they could snuggle in. As much as I love them all I just can't have them in of a winter as I was so ill last winter with my dander allergy but I want to make them as snug as possible. :)

Going to have a go at this on Friday (after I've had my haircut...lol) not sure as yet how I'm going to do it but I'll be using the blue grids and not the mesh ones. :)

Fingers crossed it works out!

Good luck hunni if it works let me know as would like to extend my cages

ooo looking forward to seeing the piccies! be interesting to see how you do this! i think i have a piccie in my mind!

The main aspect is the floor. I don't think it would pose too much of a problem It just needs to be 1ft off the bottom of the cage so I can slide another one underneath to strengthen it. That makes no sense but whn it is done you'll see what I mean...haha! :)

Louise are you using the nero roof as the roof or your grids?

I added a level to my ferplast cage & using grids tie-wrapped to the back/side. I only used 1 grid width tho' i can't see why this couldn't be bigger . If you overlap your grids they will be rigid :)

Looking forward to pics of the finished product :)

Sorry to jump In on your thread Lou but wondered Niki do you have a pic of your ferplast I've been toying with the Idea of tweaking Rambo's cage

Here you are, modelled by Rowan & Romy the freecycle piggies (happily rehomed & called Bubble & Squeak) :)

I'm using the grids Niki. :) I don't think it will cause too much problem as Ive made an upstairs for the girls in their cage so it should be quite similar in construction. :)

Will take snaps all being well Friday of it. :) x

Well it worked. I've adapted a Nero 3 and made an upstairs. This is for Pudsey and Eccles I know they should be in an Nero 4 but Eccles doesn't like big spaces being quite nervy. So I thought I'd try this and see how he gets on. They are in the utility room at the moment. :)

1 down, 4 to go will take snaps when done! x

Well Eccles doesn't care where he is I don't think! The smaller space hasn't helped him to come out so I will put them back in a Nero 4!

Jasper can use the Nero 3! Can't do the rest today though as its pouring here! Will finish off Monday when Peter is off! Always rains when I want to do the pigs! rolleyes

They are just so awkward at times aren't they.rolleyes I put a snugglesafe in for Nemo the last three nights but he won't sit anywhere near it.rolleyes He's in the kitchen but it does get quite cold at night and with him being older thought he might appreciate it a bit - but no.:))

They are funny! I just thought the smaller space would help them snuggle up in the cold. They go in the run in the day but no! Little monkey! Its not fair on Pudsey as he loves to run around but Eccles just looks at him like he is mad!

I think I just have to accept that Eccles is one of those laid back pigs that just doesn't care about acting daft and just likes to watch! :)

I've spent the day playing with Rambo's cage and he now has a little roof terrace and a ramp to get used to

I have similar indoor cages, one for Rolfy and Harris and one for Wispa and Twixie. I would love to add an upstairs but can't really figure how to do this from the picures. Can you give me a few more details? Both the girls and the boys love climbing so I think it would be great if I could add a bit of an upstairs somehow. I am not very handy and O/H is worse! Any ideas? Also the cages have to remain fully enclosed because of the cat. x
