I've posted this in my Introduction thread, but thought maybe it would be best posted here instead..
I have an issue with Tuppence:

He's addicted to fresh Basil, and when I say addicted, I'm far from exaggerating..

He will squeak and screech and run around his cage until he gets it, I have tried putting a wide range of fruit and veggies in and he won't entertain them UNTIL he's had a big bag of Basil, I am talking the Waitrose 100g bags now (not the small bags eg: from Tesco), he eats the entire bag first then he will eat other veg, it's like us having an addiction to fags, alcohol etc, his is Basil!
if you don't give it to him he will screech non stop all day, he won't give up you have to give up - believe me, I've tried everything with him.

Sometimes he will act up because he wants more, but then he only gets parsley, even though he's not very happy with that he will eventually except it - but only if he's had at least 1 bag of basil first.

He's driving us insane here, never known a piggie get an addiction! lol

Gosh, that doesn't sound good. I'm no expert, but I wouldn't imagine that that much of one thing can be good for him. Also Basil is high in calcium and so should be fed in moderation. I wonder if you could not give it him and let him squeak it out. Sounds cruel, I know and you may need earplugs, but it seems to me that he realises that if he squeaks long and loud enough you will give in.

Hopefully someone with more experience can give you better advice. :)

Glad to see someone else's piggy loves their basil... My boys all go mad for it. It is the food of preference around here...

Snugglez, I was thinking how lovely he must smell, because basil has a really nice scent.

I recently met a piggie who eats a lot of fenugreek, and he really smelt of curry, which was so funny.

(I used to keep a pot of basil on my windowledge and the cat I had at the time would only go in and out through the window, so her fur always smell nice from rubbing up against it)
