Hmmm i was thinking and chatting to my OH tonight at some point in the distant future about possibly introducing one or two more rescue boars to our boys, i know this is a risk and we have thought about slowly introducing them keeping them in cages next to one another for a period of say two months and then introducing them on neutral territory, fresh bedding and furniture rearrangement in the cage if it is a success etc.

Of course we’d need to males that are laid back, chilled out types, which i think might be a problem, will rescue's think I'm picky with wanting a laid back pig? I feel like that is being fussy! :))

Anywhoos this is my boys characters:

Harvey is a dominant character he likes to be the big boss, and is very inquisitive , friendly and likes getting upto mischief, he’s also the first one out of the hutch in the morning to see what's up. He does not like sharing his food. However he will happily share his bed with Artie x) He loves human attention, and likes to be fussed...alot!

Artie prefers munching hay rather than causing havoc and is a laid back piggy but is easily spooked with quick movements, he's quite quiet compared to Harvey, and prefers his own kind to human company.

Hmmm maybe, after reading this, it’d be easier and less stressful for my boys just to have another pair of boars in a separate cage?

Hmm does anyone have any experience of introducing a new boar to your current pair? Is is distressing for the boys? I don’t want to cause them unnecessary upset if we do decide to go ahead with this.

Also this might not happen I just like to know the options available if we decide to go ahead and expand our brood! (It's always tempting!):)

Thank you so much for reading and any advice! x

P.s sorry this is sooo long!

There are many people who bond multiple boars but I think the amount of space you have is important. I am in the same position at the moment because I would like ot add two more boys but I am terrified that my two lovely boys will fall out.

Hmm i think that too, they'll need lots of space hmmm if you do bond your boars with another could you keep an update on the forum? I'd love to know how it goes :)

Ive had several trios who have started off as a pair and a single and then made the to a trio. Only one I ever had to split was Lentil from Jake & Hector and this wasn't because of aggression or that they didnt get along it was just he was getting a bit too much for them as he is at their hormonal stage and was upsetting them by running around.

But now he is fine with Bounty :)

Ooo thats made me feel a little better, i'm thinking an older boar would work much better and i'd also like to give an older boar a home in the future too, thank you for your reply :)
