Hey there!
I am just wondering if anybody has any advice or personal experiences with introducing a new pig into a cage already inhabited by a pig. We have a young female Guinea (Zoe!) who I'd like to get a companion for (another female) and I'm not sure what the best way to go about it would be. Would we be able to just put the new pig right in and have them be okay, or would we need to slowly introduce the new pig? Any advice would be much appreciated! :)

Should be pretty easy to introduce her to a friend. Might be a good idea to go to a rescue, as they may let her have a sniff and choose her own friend.

If you buy from a petstore, please check the sex yourself to prevent any accidents O0

I would indroduce them on a neutral ground and slowly build it up from there ;) I know of the odd Sow to be very difficult to bond with another. I had problems with two of my Sows a neutered boar put paid to it though little horrors they could be to each other.
My other two Sows had to be parted when they came to me both were pregnant at the time. I did put them back together once the babies had gone with no problems, I had kept them in cages next to each other and could see each other so when the time came to put them in the same run all went smoothly. I then put them both in a hutch that they had never been in.

Neutral territory is good, more important is plenty of space so that they can avoid each other for a while if necessary.

Also offering plenty of fresh food to distract them from fighting if they dont get on in the beginning.

remove the houses Zoe normally has, and put cardboard ones in, into which you have cut at least TWO doors - so that no piggy can be cornered by the other.
