Hi everyone,

Its time to add my baby sow to my other pair (neutered boar & sow). I didn't think i would be so nervous but Baby is so tiny I just don't wnt her to get hurt. Last night I introduced her to my other 2 separately on neutral ground but Spike just ran after her continuosly trying to mount her and Buffy seemed a bit annoyed with her and nipped her a bit (no blood drawn).

Can anyone offer any suggestions? Baby is about 8 weeks old but her 280g little frame is no match for my other 2 who each weigh 1kg.

Maybe wait for her to grow a bit
Hope that works
If theyre biting then its not a good sign

It's really strange that Buffy may be the problem. She came from a lady who kept loads of guineas in a massive dog run so at some point she had to share with other sows.

She does nip Spike from time to time but I thinks it more of a 'leave me alone I'm busy' warning shot. She is a yer older than all my guins as the other 2 are under a year old.

Maybe try them side by side for a while. A mesh divider in the run for example? The other 2 can see/smell her etc, but no harm can come to her. After a couple of wheeks of doing this, try re introducing them again

I already have her side by side. There is a slight height difference as she is in a Nero and they are a couple of inches off the floor in a hutch. I assume the can smell her nd they can certainly smell and hear her as she has a fantastic set of lungs considering how diddy she is!

If you have a run I would put her in with them there and give her a small place to run and hide that the others cant get in. Be there all the time. Or introduce her to one piggy at a time.
