We have a 5ft bluebell hutch from p@h but I think the piggies don't like the ramp.( I've put them.in the hutch in the daytime to get them used to it but they are still inside until it warms uo at night abit more. )
I've since realised its too steep. I want to adjust it by perhaps putting something under the bottom of the ramp. I've looked in the sticky for ramps but wanted to know if anyone has other pics of what they've done? Especially if they have the same hutch.
Thanks

When I had the bluebell for my piggies, they didn’t mind the ramp at all but you could try putting a brick at the bottom of it to raise it. You would need to make sure they could get up on the brick so you may need to make it more into a step (perhaps covering the brick also so it’s softer on their feet).
You could maybe try attaching some more wood to the bottom of the ramp to make it longer and therefore less of a gradient. There are two issues with that in that the ramp itself is actually hollow so you need to be careful, plus there is the little block of wood on the floor to hold the ramp in place at its current length so you would likely need to replicate that also

Another consideration is covering the ramp with something and also perhaps adding sides to the ramp so they feel more secure (again, the fact the ramp is hollow may make this tricky).
I used Velcro to put vetbed on it as the ramp surface as it’s too slippery and the rungs too far apart for piggies to be encouraged to use it. The vetbed gave them grip. Using Velcro meant it could be easily removed and washed.

Also do bear in mind that piggies aren’t natural climbers and prefer their living space on a single level, some will just never use a ramp no matter what you do.

I tried raising the ramp in my 6ft hutch when my piggies wouldn't use it, but it made no difference. Putting a cloth tunnel up the ramp helped them use it a bit more, but it is still mostly only used by my boar.
