I am soooo excited I have just reserved my 2 guinea pigs to pick up in August :D.........1 is black with a dash of cream and the other is a torti . At the mo they are called DOugal and Hewy...but my 3 year old wants to call them Zeebad and Zebedee! ( They are not for him so I will see about whether they will be called that!)
I am adopting them from Wheak and Squeak rescue in Hampshire and if you visit their website you can see them( called Dougal and Hewy)
ANyway I just wanted to share my very exciting news! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

oops! Looks like I have done it!.....didn't think it would have been that easy! I think they are so gorgeous :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Awwwwww they are gooorgeous! Good choice! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

How did you find the experience? How long ago did you have the homecheck? I would have loved a sow from there not so long ago but I was just a few hundreds of miles too far away or something daft ;D ;D

I cant wait til you get them and take lots of picces :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

And well done on posting the link! O0 ;D

OMG... Hewy and Dougal are lovely. :smitten:

To think they were going to put little Baldrick to sleep! ::) He's one lucky piggy!

I am going on holiday so I wanted to reserve them before we go......when I get home I am having the homecheck.....and if the lady thinks we have everything in place ready and we are obviously suitable we get them then! There were loads of GPs there and lots of sad stories :'( One gp was actually left in a house! The people moved house and left him there! Another gp was nearly frozen to death :tickedoff: That makes you so angry..but happy that there are rescues like this who willingly take them on......It was really difficult choosing them as all of them were lovely and Satsuma and Baldrick were lovely too and have been there for a long time...I was torn really but Dougal and Hewy seemed a lot easier to handle and seeing as theses are my first pair of GPs this seemed the safer bet...no doubt I will be returning for some more! ;D( If my OH will let me!) ;)

I try think of the ones in rescues as the lucky ones. I hate to think of the ones that are simply left to themselves, or ill-treated who never make it to a rescue.
Be warned - once you have adopted your first, it rapidly becomes addictive and you want to take in more and more, especially once you hear their stories! ;D
