Adventures at petland D:

Petland is a chain pet store in Canada (not sure if it is in the states) Anyway the one in the City nearest where I live is horrible run, the cages are usually not that clean. We went there to get some alfalfa hay for the piglets.

Today when we were there they had like probably 15 guinea pigs that were at least 3 weeks+ old in 1 fish tank that was like.. Maybe 3 1/2 feet square. Not only was it extremely crowded but me and my mom were horrified to find out that it was males and females! Even though there was another tank that only had 1 rabbit and 1 guinea pig in it right next to it!

No wonder my Mocha and Moo were pregnant when we got them. And poor Abby too.

Anyway since we were there anyway, we moved all the male guinea pigs to 1 cage and all the female to another. Maybe I should teach the petstore how to tell what sex they are because they obviously don't know/don't care. Its probably too late anyway.

There was also a bunny with a respiratory problem, you could clearly hear its lungs were all wheezy =(

Can I ask where abouts in Canada you live?We are coming over for a visit to family in September/October and I wouldn't like to pass this poet store as it would make me cry that is so awful the way they had the animals cramped in like that

I think they do need a lesson in how to look after guinea pigs properly

Where abouts were you going to go? You don't want to miss coming here because the mountains are beautiful.

we are going to be coming to ottawa so in the process of trying to find cheap flights - any advice gratefully received if you know a good travel agent lol

hmm you! I should talk to their head office I was trying to think of what I could do. I was thinking of calling the SPCA but its not horrible enough that they would get involved
