Advert on gumtree about this one year old guinea pig the person mum the owner and she said that her mum getting old and going away a lot that's why she's selling the guinea pig.shes selling quite a few.the piggy a year old I feel sorry for the poor thing and I am looking for a friend for my male but not sure if to buy it.i have been told before by friend not to buy a animal off gimtree cause I feel sorry for it.
This is tricky as you cannot be sure on the health of the guinea pig or even if it is the gender they say. You also cannot be sure if the guinea pig is not pregnant. If you know all these things and are willing to deal with them and quarantine the piggy for two weeks then you could take her on. You also cannot be sure your boar will accept the new piggy. If he did not then could you house them separately?
I wouldn't because some people are ruthless... i.e. they will say they are going away/can't look after it anymore when really they are breeding them or found out the pig has a health problem. I would always go through a reputable rescue for a piggy so you know they are going to be in the best of health when you get them.
Also when looking for a friend I would recommend a reputable rescue that does boar dating as you cannot guarantee whatever piggy you pick will get along with your current male. Much better to let your piggy tell you who they like and will get along with to make it easier and less stressful on everyone involved.
