Some of you may be aware that my piggie Fuzzy has recently been treated for an ear infection. We have had him home for 4 weeks now and he has been steadily putting on weight until last night. On Thursday night I weighed him and he weighed 1088grams, last night I weighed him and he had lost 58 grams. I weighed him again this morning and he had lost another 35 grams taking him down to 995grams. :( He is eating normally and is lively and bright. The only change I have noticed is that he's not drinking as much as he was when he was putting on weight. He was drinking about 200 - 250ml of water every day when he was putting on weight, now he's only drinking about 100ml.
Before he got poorly he used to dink about 100ml of water, then when he came back from the vets that amount doubled, so I can only assume that he is loosing the weight because he's not drinking as much. I am obviously very concerned because he has lost so much weight in such a short amount of time. 8...

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I've got no experience of this sorry. I'd probably pop him back to the vet. Hope he's better soon :)

Can you confirm two hundred ml of water? It seems rather a lot, surprised he has any room left to fit in food!

He has a water bottle which holds 300ml of water, he was drinking most of that over 24 hours. Yesterday he drank about half that amount.
I've been watching him today and he's been out and about eating and drinking. I've been giving him fresh grass and as soon as i put any food in, he comes straight out and eats it all up. Which is what makes me think the weight gain previously was because of his high water intake.

Apologies for asking again but is he drinking the water or is it leaking from the bottle?
Have you tried CCT for advice, you are quite close to Wyton?

It is leaking a little but not that much. I'm going to weigh him again later on and then work out what to do if he has lost any more weight.

Just weighed Fuzzy again and he's back up to what he weighed last night which means a gain of 35 grams. Hopefully he just had an off day yesterday.
