Advice Needed Re: Hay

I have just bought some hay and am a bit unsure about it. It felt damp to the touch and doesn't smell quite right to me. I've never used this brand before so am not sure if it is just me. I need advice ...
 
If it is damp I would not use it. I think you should ask for a refund.
 
Thanks for the advice everyone. There's no point in taking risks. I got it from a website well known to this forum.

I have emailed them whilst on this thread and am pleased to say they are providing a replacement.

I am happy with this and, if the replacement is OK I will have no problems using this company again
 
It could just be an off batch. I am glad they are going to replace it for you. I hope you have enough hay in the meantime.
 
I brought a bag of my usual hay once but after opening it, it smelt fusty.

I took it back and received a replacement which I was happy with. I guess these things happen.

You're right. These things happen. That's why I'm not naming the company that supplied the hay. I don't think it'd be fair to give negative press about a company if it is a one off. They've been perfectly fair in offering me a replacement straight away.
