**ADVICE NEEDED** unfortunately one of my guinea pigs has passed away today 😭

The advice I need is what to do with the now lone male pig. So I had 5 pigs before 1 passed today. The set up is I have 2 cages 1 of them is 6x2 cage it has 2 females and 1 male (neutered) in the second cage it had 2 males in a 4x2 cage. So now there is only 1 male in the 4x2 cage. Do I now get the lone male pig neutered and put in the 6x2 cage with the other 3 pigs or do I get him neutered and put a female with him. I'm just concerned about the 2 males and I don't know what to do. Please help me 😭

Boars don't share sows - I would strongly recommend against putting him in with the other boar and his wives! It is all but guaranteed that they will fight.

Were he mine, I'd be getting him neutered and finding him some wives of his own. In the meantime they could live side-by-side for companionship provided you could make the unneutered/post-neuter boar's cage escape-proof.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Ok I rule out putting them all together, they are related the neutered male being his dad and 1 female being is mum and other his sister, if I got him neutered could I put him with the sister would that be an issue?

So sorry for your loss.
Be gentle with yourself as you grieve.

Neutering and bonding with a sow / sows is a good plan for your now single boy.
Equally, if there is a reputable rescue accessible to you, you could try boar dating to find a compatible boar companion.

He can be neutered and then after he has had the six week post op wait, he can be bonded with his sister.
He just cannot go in with all of them as two boars with sows would not work

Thank you. I will do that. I just want what's best without any breeding so I will stick to your advice to the letter, I'm so sad right now but I need to also focus on the pigs I have as well

Thank you. I'm trying to be easy on my self but it's so hard because I miss him so much. He was called lucky because he was the runt of the litter and I wasn't sure he would survive. He would of been 1 yrs old in a couple of weeks 😭😭😭
