i have a 30inch by 18inch cage with one guinea pig liveing in it, would the cage be big enough for one more guinea pig to go in with only occassional visits to our outside run as we dont have enough time for them to go in the run all day because my mum and dad go work and i go to school, if i could get another what is the minimum time they have to be in the run.
i heard that guinea pigs go best in a group but i dont have enough space for a bigger cage.

have you thought about building a c&c cage? you can make them small but taller if needed. and with that amount of room I'd say atleast a few hours eahc morning and night to run and play.

You could enlarge the cage by putting in a wooden platform at about 8 in high, so they can sleep underneath and eat on top. That gives them a bit more space in the cage.

If you could arrange a foldable run for them to have more space for a morning run and some evening play in the middle of the room, that would be great for you to watch and Ronnie and his friend to work out their energy! Just imagine if you were kept cooped in your bedroom for all your life!

They get up to all kinds of stuff during playtime! The c&c cage doesn't cost a lot, and neither does the floor protection. Both can be stored away easily.
