I've got 3 female guineas, all sisters. Have had them for just over a year now.
A week and a bit ago the biggest of the three, named Chubby got a respiratory infection. It was touch and go but she pulled through with the help of our vet:]

But, well the thing is we seperated her from the other two while she gets better..now shes well enough shes back with her sisters, Badger and Titch and shes started to become obsessed with licking Badgers bum! Its not nice to watch (quite icky) plus Badge is constantly trying to get away and making lil squeeks but Chubs insists on the licking still:( Its been about 4 days now that shes been doing it.
Would like to know if this is normal behaviour? As we've never seen her do this before? They have chased one another when one is in season but not this, Badge kinda seems a bit stressed with always having to get away:(
Have had a look at her bum to see if theres any sores or anything but nothing ?

Anyone else had this before? (I did try searching the forum but couldnt find anything about it)

Thanks in advance :)

it could be possible that she is after her poops as piggies eat them as part of their digestive process and if she is still feeling a bit out of sync she could be after them. maybe try giving her some probiotic? just an idea.

I agree.

My little boy Arthur had a respiratory infection too and was on baytril for a week, when i put him back with Arthur he was doing the same thing, it finished after a couple of days but Cgilchrist is right its just your little girl trying to get nutrients back into her digestive system. :) hope she finds her feet soon!
