Hello,
I want to get a male to put with my female guinea pigs I have 3, ( **** 3-4 months time) I was wanting my baby to grow a bit first, should I get a male to live near them then take him to have his bits done wait 6 w then introduce them?
Or should I wait till they have grown a bit then get one?
Hope this makes sense?
Thanks xx

If I were you, I would look for an already neutered boar; that saves you the headache of an operation and possible post op complications.

It doesn't matter when you introduce him; the baby won't suffer. I introduced my mum and surprise baby to the big group lead by my chunky 1500g patriarch as soon as she was weaned at 4 weeks old without any problems whatsoever. Nor did her seven weeks old playmate have any problems when I introduced her.

I have been looking for a neutered bore but not had much luck, I don't drive so hard for me to get to places, will keep looking and I will get there by any means possible if I find one x

Can you get as far as Bramley Cavies in Leeds or Milhaven in Keighley? Perhaps the piggy bank can get a neutered boar as far as there for you.

Would they be able to do that for me?
Who would do the home cheak?
