Adult Guinea Pig
This is a general message for experienced owners. Although we have had piggies for 3 and a half years, since losing 2 in rapid succussion we have become a little paranoid. I would welcome comments on what we feed out piggies.
First thing in the morning a chunk of cucumber as we have our morning cuppa.
Then breakfast of cucumber, celery (small chunks), chopped carrot, chopped tomato, a couple of leafs of romaine lettuce and every now and again variously spinach, kale, brocolli, brussel sprouts and chopped red pepper.
The main feed is Burgess Excel Herbage and nuggets. (we dont use any other hay as we all have hayfever and the timothy hay in the herbage offers least issues.)
They also get hay cakes.
Treats are usually flat and curly parsley and coriander (both as suggested by our vet).
On an evening they are allowed out of the cage (which is in the living room) where they share the living room floor with us. (Currently showing they could try out for Olympic sprint events.)
Look forward to receiving your comments.
