Hi everyone.

I posted a while back that I had found a lump on my Guinea pig fudges neck. A mobile lump about the size of a small pea located in his chest/throat area.

When he was examined by the vet a few weeks back she said it was most likely to be an enlarged lymph node and he could possibly be fighting an infection.
It’s now been 3 weeks, the lump is still there. It hasn’t gotten bigger and it also hasn’t shrunk either.

Fudges weight was 1167g two weeks ago, now he weighs 1100g. He seems okay, eating well etc.

However the fact that the lump is still there is playing on my mind, I thought it would’ve gone.

I want to take him to the vets again as I’m worried about it, what should I do?

Not experienced with lumps but I would also say take him back to the vet. It’s good that it’s not getting bigger. The weight loss isn’t drastic as it’s around 33g per week.

Definitely ask the vet, even if this is bothering you more than your piggy! The vet may be able to draw off a small sample of whatever is in the lump with a needle (usually only needs a spray of local anaesthetic on the skin to do this) and see what it is x

I agree - go back to the vet.
Your peace of mind is important as well as your piggy’s health
