My blonde piggy Cookie has some scabs on her back which I thought are bites from Fudge but I am wondering now if they are burrowing mites. I have seen about 4 black flects which could be mite dirt? Her skin also looks very dry in places and as though it could split is this normal with mites? I was going to buy some Ivermectin today do you think this is the right way to go and how much Iver should I use for how long. Sorry for the questions but I have never had this happen before I don't want to get anything wrong.

Thak you x

Try the ivermectin, but sounds more like fungal, especially with the dry skin. If the ivermec doesnt work i would suggest a vet trip. If your piggies are over 800g then they need a tube of xeno 450 each, make sure you treat all the piggies in the same cage. If the scratchin/self harming worsens then i would go to the vet. Sorry.

Hope your little one starts feeling better soon?

x.

It could be due to mange mites, which live under the skin, you will need antibiotics to clear up the skin for this.
