Hi all, first post here...

I have a 3 year old sow, otherwise healthy, with ringworm (diagnosed on sight by vet). It first appeared two weeks ago and we were on holiday so all I could do for a week was apply Daktarin cream. That gradually cleared it up but she hates having it applied and I'm worried that the stress is doing more harm than good? Last week the vet prescribed Malaseb (a weekly wash) and advised continuing with the Daktarin cream. I was wondering about giving Daktarin oral gel (I understand it's 0.5ml twice daily? She's a 1kg pig) instead of the cream?

What would you guys suggest - and how long should I expect this to take for it to clear? I just want to do the best thing for her without causing too much stress! Any advice or experiences of treating ringworm would be very very welcome. Thanks.

PS. I have read the Ringworm guide here, as well as a few other posts, but wanted to ask about this specific treatment combination - and likely time for it to heal. Also, I've read about oral systemic treatments - at what point should I ask my vet for that if creams/oral gel/washes don't work?

Hi, my piggies had very bad ringworm last year. I was told by my vet not to put any moisture on it as it would make it spread. I used this Screenshot_20190508-152300.webp I just sprinkled it onto my piggies ringworm area and it cleared up in a couple of months. It didn't cause my piggies much stress either :)
