Advice Please - Lots Of Drinking

Hi everyone, our new piggy nibbles is drinking a lot! She has a 500ml water bottle and I thought it was leaking as she's been drinking it all in half a day so I put a new one on there at 11pm last night (nearly 12 hours ago) this one is 300ml and she's drank it all! We have Peppa and George and between them they don't go through 500ml in 24hrs let alone 12! All piggys get plenty of veg and fruit everyday. She seems healthy and happy but we don't know her history and only had her a week. Am I panicking for nothing?

That does sound like an awful lot of water for one piggy in such a short period of time. Some piggies do drink more than others, but I think it would be worth getting your little one checked over by a vet - even if it is just for your own piece of mind.

It is good that you have her seen. We recommend to see a vet if a piggy drinks 300ml and more in a day. Wishing you all the best!

Some pigs do drink a lot, but since it can be a sign of diabetes or other health problems, it's probably worth getting it checked. Linney drinks constantly, but has been checked out and there are no issues, so in her case it's just a thing she does... but I did feel better once I knew for sure it wasn't a problem!

Wow that's a lot of water! My piggies only drink about 25-75 ml a day each. Seeing a vet is definitely a good idea.
