Hi,

I am thinking of using fleece, currently using woodshavings and not liking it at all. Can I use any old fleece or does it have to be a special kind.

Also george likes to chew everything in sight including my clothes when I am playing with him will it upset him if he eats some? Do you use it over all the cage or just in bed area? what would you put in other areas?

Thanks

any old fleese

Hi
I just use fleece i bought from the market with newspaper on the bottom, then towel then fleece. Chocco is potty trained so makes cleaning very easy, not had any probs with him eating fleese yet!
Also hear quite a few people use vet bed, looks like good stuff but was bit expensive for me.
Also advantage with fleese is that you can have matching accessories, i made a cuddle cup and cozy with leftovers :D

do you need towel then or just a few layers of fleece? how do you make a cuddle cup is it just like a sleeping bag or is it more like the shape of a cat/dog bed? Thanks for the info I saw a really cheap fleece for dogs other day which was going to buy but wasn't sure if it was right type!

Do you use newspaper in toilet area or something else? George is kind of toilet trained he wees in couple of corners (but poos everywhere) and when I put him in his play pen he poos everywhere but bought him a potty for the corner which he wees in (bless) i'm very proud, he has an occasional accident but has only been in his pen a few times so is learning!

I use fleece in the non tray base of my cage (see pictures in cage section) I have them in my living room so to protect the carpet I have a thin plastic dust sheet, then newspaper, then the fleece, they have really become toilet trained now but there are still the odd time they like else where, so in these areas I put another layer of newspaer and a towel over the fleece.

I al so ound these pet mats in poundland which are suppose to be to put under cat and dog bowls but at a £1 I have found these very good to put under newspaper under the pigaloos where they have little accidents, no wet fleece this way.

I like the fleece it has been very popular with my piggies. The main fleece i have is a fleece throw from primark £2. I found some pet fleece in asda in there pet event and this is better for the hay and bits not sticking. I have not tried vetbed so cant comment on how that differs in quality

I should think so, I get read ones from other people, there are always some in the staff room at work so just bring them home with me

Hi Briony
I use wood based cat litter in his litter tray and a towel in his hay area, as its easier to shake the hay off. As for cuddle cup directions can be found at this address. hope this helps :D

Great instructions will be trying to make one at weekend as soon as I get my fleece & material, is it just normal wadding you use for the inside?:)

I used thick wadding about 2.5cm ish but guess you could get thinner and double up. Also a tip, make sure you make the dip quite deep mine is a little shallow but chocco doesnt seem to mind jumping in and out :P
