so, a few weeks ago, boris had gotten into the girls run from his own, now we didnt know if he managed to do the deed but have been keeping a close eye on the girls just incase. nancy pig seems to look a little rounder than she ever has done, and both are drinking more from what i can see. penny doesnt appear any larger or to be changing shape. i have had a gentle feel of both, and penny is all soft inside, nancy though doesnt seem to like me feeling her sides and belly, but the past 2 times i have managed it, ive felt what feel like small possibly marble size bumps in there. now I'm worrying he may have managed to have his way with her and shes expecting. is it likely that they are babies I'm feeling in there? i dont know at what gestation you can feel the babies. i have everything crossed it isnt minipigs in there, i am loving spoiling the girls like i can with just the 2 of them :(

Guinea pig gestation is anywhere from about 60-72 days (9-10 weeks roughly). If you're gentle, you can feel small lumps inside quite early, and they start showing anywhere from 5-6 weeks onwards in my experience.

It is likely that if she's looking noticably rounder and drinking a lot more that she is pregnant. If you weigh her weekly she'll be putting on weight and may start eating a bit more. It's hard to tell until they show, and you shouldn't really squeeze her too much to try to feel them as you can do damage to the babies, even if you're gentle!

I'd definitely start feeding her extra vit c like extra pepper or something just in case and apart from that the only thing you can do is watch and wait now, and see if she does get bigger.

Fingers crossed that she isn't though, and that if she is all goes well!

:( i have everything crossed that they arent pregnant, i really dont want to put them through that. i have been very gentle with her, will just have to wait and see. they have loads of fresh veggies every day, and they both adore their peppers and broccoli among a ton of other veggies so vit c isnt an issue. they just seem so small to possibly be expecting. they were born on january 31st, and weigh 800g and 850g this afternoon. they have been steadily gaining all along, but i dont know whether its maybe all their growth and hopefully not the growth of any babies in there. its mainly nancys shape thats causing more concern, it could just be the way her rosettes are that make her look more rounded (note the hopeful tone there!) will keep tabs on weight and keep up with their veggies. i think its 3 weeks since he got in with them now, i was sure they had both been in season last week as one day penny was trying to mount nancy, and then the day after it was the other way round. i hoped this was them in season meaning there werent expecting but i guess it could have been dominance.

Sweetie it might be best to get this moved to the pregnancy section, you'll get even more help there from people who've been thru this :)
Just send admin a message :)

Best of luck tho with the little girls Penny and Nancy xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>
