Barbra has been on Baytril for a week to clear up a suspected UTI. she has blood in her urine still and is going to the vets again shortly. is there something specific I should be asking?

Barbra - update

She has a mass on her bladder that is inoperable. Have been given Metacam to give her every day to keep her comfortable. Vet says it will last approx two months and I am not likely to need a second bottle. I'm gutted 8...

How was the mass on the bladder identified? Is it inside the bladder or outside? For what it's worth about 6 months ago Patrick's bladder showed abnormalities 'growth or scarring' we where unable to identify what it is, it's within the bladder he's still with me.

I'm sorry for such a sad prognosis - Let's hope the vet is incorrect and your little one has many more years! x

where there is life there is hope

Maybe get another opinion? But i agree many bladder masses are not operable. Glad Barbera is being kept comfortable. Lets hope she has much longer than the vet thinks.

x.

she was scanned and I was told the mass is in her bladder

Do you know how it appeared in the bladder? Patrick's was across the bladder.

I don't know, the vet did tell me that even if i put Barbra through more tests, scans etc it wouldn't change the way she would treat her, I may give her a ring on Monday and ask if there aren't more things we can do that are not invasive. I just don't know what to do for the best :(

We couldn't identify if or not it was a mass but we did decide it was slow growing as he is still in good - I think in Patrick's case it maybe bladder scarring perhaps?

However we did not go any further with test's either. As said earlier Patrick is still fine in himself and also produces blood. However we do routine scan's and Xray's!

He has a huge thread, he has had ongoing bladder problems. At this moment and time he is doing well.
