At last we will be getting Edward a bigger cage next week so we can start planning boar dating but when we get the new cage would it be better to put Edward in it straight away or wait until we get him a friend and put them both in the new cage at the same time?

i would wait and put them both in it so no smells. I did this with my 4 girls and worked great. Saves you scrubbing it. The girls were in two seperate cages then i got a c&c and put them all in together with new hideys, fleece and litter trays and they were great

I would wait & put both in the same cage as that way it will be new territory to both of them. I did this when bonding my 2 boys.

Yes, I agree with the others who said wait & put them both in together.

Thanks everyone can't wait to get him a friend :D
It's exciting isn't it? When I put in a request to a rescue for their first available baby boar to bond with my Hazelnut, I was anxiously awaiting the call and when I got it went same day.

when i extend my cage will be looking for a neutered boar to go in with my girls. Am getting first refusal on any that come into my local rescue. Am at my daughters in darlington at the weekend and there is a himi boar free to a good home there so very tempted to pick him up. Seems like fate that he is in need of a home and i will be there anyway. He is stunning and i love himis anyway. So tempting as he is young enough to get castrated and living on his own at the moment.Might just take a carry case with me, do you think hubby would notice. He said no more but said that 6 piggies ago
