Hey guys,

After reading stories on here about Pets at Home I'm trying to change my piggies food as they are on their nuggets.

Just wondering if anyone as advice about changing them over because I've been trying and they're having none of it :(

When I changed my girls food over i put half of their old and half of their new and gradually put more new. They didnt like having just nuggets at 1st but they soon got used to it. I'm sure yours will in time.
 
It's a gradual process and should take about 10-ish days. Start by giving them a new amount of food on top of their P@H food for 3 days, then after that give half P@H half new food for 4 days and then for the remaining 3 days give 3/4 new food then you should be able to fully switch over. This method worked with me. :)

I switched mine from P@H nuggets to Oxbow Cavy Cuisine a few months ago. I tried mixing both old and new nuggets and then gradually reducing the old ones but they were having none of it! They would pick out the P@H ones and leave the Cavy Cuisine! Even when they were down to 1/4 P@H and 3/4 Cavy Cuisine they still refused. I was so worried that they wouldn't be getting all the nutrients that they needed and even considered abandoning the switch. The only thing that worked for me was to crush up some P@H nuggets into a fine powder and sprinkle it over the Cavy Cuisine. I did this for a few days and found that they soon emptied their bowls again. After about a week I stopped sprinkling the powder over the top and now they love their new nuggets! :)

I use Oxbow Cavy Cuisine which is the best! Most people on here use it, it can't be bought in shops so it has to be bought online.
 
Burgess Excel (both varieties), Harrington's (former Wagg optimum) and Science Selective are also good brands.
