Hi i run a resuce and so have both pairs of boars and sows in. When i out them in the run i try to put the boars away from the sows and on differennt grass, now my garden is not big so although they are not side by side they are about 6 feet away.

Anyway a pair of boars i have in have been bonded for years, they have fallen out and both have bad guts around their mouths, another pair of boars i have spend most of their time chattering their eeth at each other.

What can i do to stop them falling out as now have 4 single boars:(

Hi

I have separate runs for boars and girls, as in I never put boars in a run that a sow has been in, and I never put them on grass that a sow has been on. Same with food bowls, bottles etc - they can smell the girlies! Perhaps have a rota so boars got out in the morning and sows in the afternoon?

Some boars are fine with it, others aren't - seems you've been unlucky with yours, as many wouldn't be that sensitive. It might be possible to re-bond the boars but only away from smelling distance of the girlies

Also, pigs that come in as a bonded pair may never have been near other pigs - and are more likely to fall out than pigs who have grown up in a busy shed. The boars that I've had here since babies couldn't care less if they're near sows or not, they're used to it!

my aflie is obseased with my 5 girls when there out in the gradan i put his run next to thiers and he is fine just watchs them all day

my 4 boys who live togther when i put thier run by the girls thiere not borthed by them one bit there might have a look at them but thats it as along as there cant touch them there not borthed about the girls

my max couldnt give a toss about any of them anymore he likes been on his own and doing his own thing (sleeping)

but all boys are diffrent

Why don't you put them together? Is it because one or more are not neutered or another reason?

Cheers
