Yesterday I adopted to male piggies, Dexter and Ezra. The previous owner said they are 3-4 months. I also already had two female piggies, Lumen and Phoebe. I obviously have them in separate cages and right now have them in completely different rooms. They haven't even seen each other. The plan is to eventually move them into the same room just separate cages. The cages wouldn't be touching and would be on opposite sides of the room. They could see/hear each other though. Looking for tips/advice and having both boys and girls. Like, are they going to rile each other up even in different cages, etc. I've never had males and females at the same time. I obviously know to keep them separate as I don't want baby pigs.

I fostered 2 sow babies for a rescue centre and I had to actually move the girls out of the pet room into a separate room as my own 2 boars started to fight. But I do know of other members who keep Boars and sows in the same room. That was just my experience.

I have 2 neutered boars who are brothers and 3 sows who are Mum, Daughter/Sister to brothers and Aunty and they all live happily in a herd of 5. I kept the boys separate from the girls until after they were neutered. The girls had the top of the hutch and the boys had the bottom. I never saw any fighting between the boys apart from the usual dominance stuff. When the girls were in the run they could see the boys and often they had a chat with them and the other way around. They were used to the smell of each other though so that may have had something to do with it.
