Are you able to just ring up a vet with a quick question? I just don’t see why I’d have to bring him in when nothing looks wrong and pay $70 with just a question. Just don’t know if that’s a thing.
It probably depends on the vet.
I’ve phoned our veterinary hospital with an out of hours question and they don’t charge but I’ve never had to phone the surgery.
I phoned the vet and got a good reply, then I was the one who insisted for a visit. I sent him also an email for a doubt. But everything depends on their kindness and the risk they feel of losing a customer. I would change family doctor, specialist doctors and vet if they would not be available by phone... In a little town where only one exotic vet is available they might act differently.
