I have another thread regarding Minky. I was advised to give her some critical care. Is Supreme Science Recovery Plus the same. I got a sachet from my vet shortly after Madam passed away in February. It's been in the medicine cabinet since then but when I've gone to use it, there's no instructions, they did give me a syringe with it. I'm presuming you mix it with water, do you use boiled water, water that't been boiled or just cold water. I'm wanting to give her some tonight so any advice would be really appreciated.

I’ve always used boiled water for it, but i think it only has to be hot, you should make sure it’s cool enough when it comes to feeding though.

There is no set sort of consistency for this brand, i just tend to use a bit and slowly add more water to make it thinner. It often depends alot on the syringe as some get really gunked up quickly if it’s too thick of a mix so you have to water it down again.

I used supreme science recovery plus when my little Bubble was ill. I was told by the vet to mix it with fairly warm water (I used normal tap water) until most of the lumps had gone and it was watery enough to be sucked up the syringe. Hope that helped x

Thanks to twiams & bubble&squeak4ever. I'll mix half the sachet now & keep the rest for tomorrow. Minky has been eating a bit more today especially when I had her on the lawn with the other girls. I've had to put the divider back in the run because the other 2 are pestering her & she's got a bit stressed. At present she's sat on the sofa with me watching Coronation Street & seems happy enough. I'm probably being too protective but after losing Madam in February I am really protective of the girls.

Well it was easy to mix but what a messy job even though I had a special fleecy pouch which I use for administering meds. I had a syringe with 20 ml of Recovery Plus, I probably got over 50% of it down her with the rest on my hands & down her chin. She definitely does like this it's a bit different to giving 0.4 ml of metacam. It will be worth it though if it helps her gain weight.

Yep it does get very messy! :)) I even managed to get it in my hair!

I normally mix mine to a toothpastey consistency with the end chopped off the syringe. be careful about air bubbles this way though! I tend to mash the paste to the bottom of the ramekin with the syringe and then suck it up so no bubbles or gaps in the mix. The thicker the consistency the more likely piggy gets to chew aswell which encourages tooth wear and paced swallowing.

though of course, the more water in it the more fluids piggy gets so its up to personaly preference, theres benefits either way!
