Senior Guinea Pig
Yesterday was a very exciting day - for the first time since I was young(er) I got to choose the pigs that came to live with me!
As a rescue there are always pigs that need to stay due to issues that they arrive with, they become my babies. In the past 10 yrs, 3 pigs have stayed because I fell so hard for them I could not give them up; one was adopted form Palace Piggies to protect him from being used in breeding by those that had approached the rescue (Baldric), one returned to the rescue and I knew as soon as he came through the door that he would stay (Pip) and another 'looked' at me when she arrived and had previously had such a dreadful life that she stayed too (Lucy).
So finally I have my own pets, Mr Piglet and Mr Bear, transported across country by the marvellous members of the Piggy Bank UK in a marathon journey with 7 change overs and a day's travelling for the pigs, they arrived in good shape and happily tucked in as soon as they got here.
More pics when they have settled in and have finished their quarantine period, health checks with my vet will be booked - Little black Bear may have some issues as he drinks a great deal.
Bear with a soggy chin as he loves drinking out of a bowl.
Thank you to Melody for trusting me with her boys, I am so delighted to be the one who gets to share their lives.
