So, had lovely cuddles earlier, at least 15 mins each piggie... They had time in their indoor run but have been falling out ever since !

Proper chasing and bum sniffing and nipping at each other ! Took Pippin out in a cosy and she was frantically biting at it !

Put her back when she had seemed to calm down then she went mental at Gladys ! She nipped her back, it hasn't drawn blood but gladys squealed... So i have set the indoor run back up and popped Gladys in there for the night !

I am going to sleep on the sofa so i can keep an ear out - have i don't the right thing?? i just want to prevent any injury ..

This is the kind of behaviour my boys display all day, every day (lunging but no obvious bites [though plenty of loud squeaks, and lots of general screeching/grumbling whenever one of the pigs moves a muscle], back each other into corners for a chin off, constant chasing and shoving out of hideys...). Have I been doing the wrong thing by waiting it out?! I'll be watching this thread with interest.

How old are your piggies, artcasper? Are they in season ATM? That might account for the testiness.

They must be in season cos it happens every so often, i should keep a diary! But they are not usually this bad with each other! They are nearly 1 year old... i think i have been told only to part them if they draw blood but i was worried tonight!

If they get particularly bad, you could always separate them for an hour to cool down (but make sure they can see, smell, and touch each other throughout [i.e. two cages placed directly next to each other]).

Does this only happen when you let them out for floor time together? What happens if they have it separately?

BTW the squealing is likely in submission rather than indicating pain. Nipping is a very calculated thing, from what I can tell watching my boys.

One is in the c&c cage on a low table and the other is on the floor right next to it, so they are quite close.. i will go and check them in a bit, other half is in the room watching tv.. at floor time they were fine! They had a good hour out tonight.. then went back in for their dinner..

My girls have arguments every month or so. Last week Lola was in season and she tries to lick Lily's bum but lily won't have it so lily runs around and Lola chases her. Glad it has settled again

mine have done it before but this time Pippin was proper nasty ! She defo had a ' bag on ' as we say here !

I was about to say are they in season, my girls are always at it, they are worse than our boars... Lets hope they stay settled :)
