please help, my little pig just had a big operation and we are going to pick her up in an hour.

if you have any advise on looking after my pig, what to feed her how to keep her hydrated best type of bedding ect please let me know

The vet will tell you all you need to know to help care for your little one.

I dont know whats best but imagine if theres a wound you would want something clean thats not going to get into the wound. So, I would avoid woodchips etc... and maybe go for newspapers or fleece or something instead. See what the vet says though.
Hope your piggy recovers well.
xx

i kept my boy on fleece after he'd had an op. make sure they're peeing and pooing etc. try and tempt them with nice veggies as it's important they eat. how are they doing? x

We put hay in a rack rather than a tray etc. so the op site is kept away from anything that could scratch - piggies tend to lie in hay, pee and poo in it as well so this minimises the risk of infection. Keep pens as clean as you can.
Any areas where they normally jump onto/from is better being removed if possible, try to keep them on one level, mattress protectors are good cut to size and you'll notice if there is any bleeding.
The obvious one is to check the site as often as possible, ideally twice a day for any redness, inflammation or if it feels hot - this indicates infection.
Good luck and hope your piggy has a speedy recovery - I just treated mine as if they were babies rolleyes and spoiled them more than ever.

How's little Caramel doing love ?
When our boy had his abscess operation i put him immediately onto towels (didn't know about fleecy then) and put his hay into a large tray.
Hopefully the vets gave you some pain relief and care instructions :)

LOTS OF HEALING WHEEEEEEEKS FOR CARAMEL XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
