Well it all started with someone linking to piggy bedspreads and me jumping up and down saying "I want some of those!" rolleyes, well i then started researching absorbent material inner layer and have been going on about incontinence pads ever since! I then bought 20 m of material and some dacron to make piggy bedsheets and fleece pads for the upper deck. I have had to learn how to use a sewing machine... which has been torturous at times! seems to break down every opportunity! but here is what i have "fashioned" for my darling little furkids!

these are the pads for the upper layer

this is how i quilted them

Looks fav hun as they say you did good :(|) love the wardrobe, my OH has said if I get a seperate cuboard/wardrobe for roger he won't be held responsible for what he does (the dogs have taken over one of my wardrobes, well in all fairness they need the clothes this weather they are chinese cresteds after all :)) )

I love it. The effort us piggie slaves put in to create such magnificent palaces for our little four legged furries. wEll done to you.

I love it, did you buy just a cheap sewing machine? Why ddn't I ever learn to sew 8...

nope i borrowed a machine off a friend and going to steal my mums next month on a more permanent loanrolleyes-c-c:x

Wow! You really went out on that! The reault is VERY impressive! x)x)

Thanks for all the kind words i have a week to finish the other set ready for the change next week! has used lots and lots and lots of thread have used 5 spools on half and need to go back to the shop to buy more tomorrow!

It looks fabulous Eleanor, you did a fantastic job!

Sewing machies can be torture, they really can, but it's so worth it when you get the finished articles. :)

I don't think I would dare to post a photo of my pigs storage space. It's all organised and tidy but it is..umm..'something', how much 'stuff' they have. Your three have a great collection there, they are definitely doing well. :))

Looks fab! Great work :)

I too love the idea of a seperate hay area! That's gonna save you loads of mess. I've very jealous! drool

you wouldn't think i have only had them since august! the amount of stuff they have acquired..... :))

would like to add much as it is lovely to look at being conked on the head by the ramp dropping onto it is not great! rolleyes also it is a pig to clean!

Well done you! That's really brilliant.

I love what you've done. Sre the inco pads attached to the fleece upper?

I am planning on made to measure fleeces when I have enough pads, yours looks great!

Wow I llove it! Where did you get the 'inner lining' because me and my extremely limited powers of sewing are going to attempt to make some snuggle sacks, I've got some fleece (in white) but need some lining.

I did not attach the fleece to the inco pads as if they catch mites or lice i want to be able to wash the inco pads at 90C and you can't do that with fleece - the fleece would have to be treated with an insecticidal wash....

plus it means if i decided to make more bedsheets i do not have to buy more inco pads yep i am cheap!:(|)

Not cheap at all more carefully crafty ;) I never attach my fleece because I'm a great one for changing fleeces like I do socks :))

The inner padding for the upper layer is dacron that i bought from ebay the thickness i got was 6 oz but might buy only 4oz to make the cozies and tunnels... was very hardwork on the sewing machine as rather thick!

I'm going to be really thick and ask what are inco pads? Is there an online guide to making snuggle sacks/ cavy cozies?

Not thick at all hun, they are Incontinence pads (usually the washable ones).
