I'm honestly not sure what's going on here. These two keep going back and forth w/ dominance behaviors, although it IS de-escalating more and more with time.

So, is this love, dominance, or just weird as heck?

Barbering! You could try rubbing a tiny amount of Tee Tree cream on the ear , the smell will usualy put the offending pig off

It is called barbering; but it is difficult to say for me whether it is dominance barbering or social grooming going overboard. Your boy is in any way tolerating it.
Barbering ( Eating Hair)

Barbering is just one of those weird pig behaviors... Sundae used to do it on and off (no clue as to why it stopped and started.) She was the most passive pig ever, so there was no way it was a dominance thing with her. She was blind in her old age, I think she may have wanted Hadley close and it was impossible for her to be far away if Sundae was always chewing her! Right now Leela is missing one of her 'handlebars' (long fur that sprouts behind her ears.) I have seen Hadley doing social grooming with her near her ears... I think she got carried away. It's definitely affectionate in her case, it's clearly grooming and Leela looks really blissed out during the entire process.
