When I adopted five year old Oscar from BARC in Barnsley last year in August, I got many comments along the lines of how lucky Bryn Oscar was. That was not quite true; the lucky ones were us!

It may have been just a year in real time, but Bryn has packed a lifetime of fun and adventures into it, so it feels more like he's been with us forever.

The "widowed old gentleman" in urgent need of a new lady in his life, after a prospective home pulled out at the last minute, quickly turned out to have the true soul of a pirate, to match his one-eye "Jack Sparrow" look. A most talented escape artist, adventurer and casanova, he proved that no pig is ever too old to popcorn or to get into mischief, however arthritic - in his mind, he was always young and nothing was impossible!

Bryn first made Ffowlyn very happy, but they were joined by more older ladies as time went by - Ceri, Cariad, Ffraid, Nia and latest Tanni. It has been quite a shock to see Bryn go downhill so suddenly and quickly and be unable to help him. With the pirate gone, it's far too quiet here.

I am sure that Bryn is currently very busy having a great time swashbuckling across the Rainbow Bridge in the company of Ffowlyn and his two first "sowves".

Oh Bryn you were such a handsome guy and full of character. You have brought your family (furry and otherwise) a great deal of love and happiness. Sleep well Pirate Prince and go create havoc over the bridge....

Wiebke, you have my sincerest sympathies, there is nothing harder than letting go and loving them enough to say goodbye. Huge hugs to you and the rest of the oldies who will be missing him so much. You gave him a brilliant home and he will thank you for it forever. x

What a bunch of cuties. So sorry for your little man. As a pirate he went down with the ship as they say. Much luck to the rest of your crew.
 
So sorry to hear this sad news.....He packed such a lot into his time with you and the tribe....Keep swashbuckling at the bridge pirate Bryn...
 
Bryn was a very handsome boy indeed who brought joy in to many lives.

I myself am privileged to have met and had a cuddle with the pirate himself.

I am truly sorry for your loss Wiebke and can imagine the hole he must have left.

Sleep peacefully Bryn, have fun at the bridge with Ffowlyn xx

It is very sad.
Bryn Oscar will leave memories that made you laugh and touched your heart never to be forgotten.

I am just so glad he had a 'ball' living with you Wiebke and all his wifes and neighbours in such a brilliant home for a deserving Gentleman.

I remember only just over a year ago when you adopted him he started his adventure on the train journey home with you, I could only imagine how excited he must have been when he realised your house had 'ladypiggies' and some were to become his 'Troop'

Sorry to hear about Bryn Oscar - i know that salt N peppers mum was super fond of him and so delighted when he went to your luxury home with wives.
