Air conditioner unit

Does anyone use an air conditioner unit in there piggy room, if so could you recommend one please. My piggy room is north facing, i always put covered frozen bottles of water in when the weather gets warm, but would like to get one if the weather gets really hot. Thank you

We’ve got an air conditioning unit in the piggy log cabin. It’s a Blyss one, but I don’t think it’s available any more, as we’ve had it a few years. It was around £250.

I believe screwfix sells a good one for around £100 if I remember correctly. But that was last summer I looked. The rest were crappy little units that wouldn't do much.

This is the one I’ve just bought (after buying and returning several others). This one is by far the best! It’s keeping my piggy room cool as we speak

The Dyson small one, and another (can’t remember what it was called) that we got from PC World were not great.

I know how you feel! 3 of ours where due MOT at same time…. and 2 others need MOTs over summer

but yes, the air con from Screwfix hasn’t been returned (Unlike the others)!

I tried fans and coolers but they just end up circulating hot air.
With this one you add a water tray (usually needs re-filling after ten hours), set it to air con and whatever fan speed you desire.

I don’t point it at the pigs. I have it outside of the room (behind the door), blowing in. So it’s cooling the room but not blowing at them

No. It feels really fresh. A lot nicer than the humidity outside

It is really dangerous to do something new with electronic, also you do it not in your own home and if something happens can be injured other people. Also, if you are not an electrician I think that you shouldn't do it by yourself. It's better to ask someone who knows or qualificated specialists, they'll answer your question. After that if you are sure that it is safe you can do it, but also really safe, because it is electricity and it's dangerous for you

Plus no one was installing air con (as that would require an electrician and specialist units), we were just recommending portable (plug in) units. All perfectly safe
