So Alan's humping has become quite frequent and poor William is bearing the brunt of it all - so far William has been kicking him off and they have squared up but no fights. Then minutes later they will be snuggled up as if nothing's happened. rolleyes

I am keeping a close eye on it all to make sure there are no fights, and I am sure it will all pass soon.

Clive just stays out of it all and just popcorns everywhere, guess he's just not into boys as much as Alan rolleyes:)):))

I have toys and things for Alan to hump on, but anything else anyone could suggest would be GREAT - thank you :)

In the meantime poor William!

I know how you feel, Beanbag is the same with Buzz. Buzz tends to shake him off and then they both popcorn. Not got any advice though sorry but will be interested in what others say.

I have an Alan and I have to say he went through periods of humping poor Barry alot!

When I first brought him back from my mum's they had about three times as much space, went on the grass in their run, had unlimited hay and lots of cardboard boxes to play in. I think this sent him over the edge and at the hint of anything new and exciting made poor Barry get a humping! :))

I have to say though as the weeks went by he did it less and less so is there anything new making him get 'overly excitable'!? LOL x

Boars can go through phases of extreme humping.

A good way of testing whether the humped boar is OK with any ceaseless humping is to separate them for a short time - a bullied boar will perk up noticeably. Otherwise, all they want is getting back together!

This really did make me chuckle :)) My two boys (Shadow and Elvis) are like this literally ALL the time - some days are calmer than others but generally i find the remnants of their night/daytime antics when carrying out my daily hoovering duties :)>>>

I think the warmer weather in recent weeks has done something to their hormones - lucky for me though, whilst Shadow can be very persistent with his cagemate - Elvis is very easy going and has even himself enjoyed the odd few frisky nights and Shadow has been quite happy to play along :))

I think all you can do is wait it out and keep an eye on the sitiuation - you'll know when it's time to step in :)

William is fine - he simply kicks Alan off and continues munching or drinking or running around.

There was a little teeth chatter this evening which put me right on edge - a lot of it was for show and luckily no piggie went for another - poor Clive was right in the middle.

Whenever I take William away from the situation he pines for them both, wiggles out of my arms and struts back up to them both and snuggles with them rolleyes

Nothing has changed for the piggies - apart from the weather!

I will be keeping an eye on the activities and I am hoping it doesn't come to seperation tactics, but if any of them are getting upset, ill, etc because of it then I will seperate.

*FINGERSCROSSED*

You little ones are coming up to the hormones... and the warm weather can let tempers fray just that little bit more!

I remember when William & Keith got to the hormonal stage - they were not half as bad as Alan is being!

Bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomin' typical!

My boys did this constantly for about 6 months and it drove me INSANE! Dougal humped Ted who would make the most awful squealing noise, it went right through me :{ Apart from brief seperation to give poor William a break, theres not a lot to do. I tried this but the boys went nuts without eachother so i left them to it! Its a dominance thing, not sexual, let them work it out and hopefully the humping will abate soon :))

I took William away for cuddles and cucumber feeding for 10 minutes - he WHINED the whole time for the boys! :))rolleyes

I love how they use a sexual technique for dominance. Silly boys! :))

You cant win! I spent ages seperating the pen to give Ted a rest. Only to have them frantically trying to get back to eachother :(|) Funny little creatures!!!

oooooooh dear, BOARS rolleyes
Isn't William a darling not to get too cross xoxo
paws crossed that all stays good with them all.......Clive seems like he's totally oblivious to it all :))

William was always the laid back one out of William & Keith so it has stood him in good stead with the boys. :)):))

Clive is completely oblivious - he tried to hump William once, got bored and preferred popcorning! :)):))
