I am thinking about getting Albert a male texel that I found at a pet shop. This is the lady that knows alot, but I am asking the opinion of you guys. The texel is just under a year and she thinks that I should I get a guinea closer to Albert's age so they will not fight. I would really like a texel though, what do you guys think?

many would say get a rescue as there are so many that need homes, they have been health checked, so no quarentine and at rescues you can take albert with you and he can pick out his friend. and pet shop piggies are usually sick, i know this from the ones i have bought here in oz. they may look healthy now but some become sick 2-4 weeks after.
no one can tell you what to do but if you get this piggy have you got two cages to keep them seperate for 2-4 weeks, what will you do if albert doesn't like his new friend? and a lot here say if you buy from a petshop you are giving them money to get more piggies in.
here in south oz we don't have rescues so we either have to get from a petshop or a breeder. but if you have the choice i would go rescue! good luck which ever way you and albert decide. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
