Here i am again, Albie has "cow pat" type poops. :( I give him kaolin/probiotics & reduce his veggies to almost nothing (poor Maddie) he starts to "firm up" & i introduce a bit more green stuff ie celery, broccoli, cucumber, a teeny piece of romaine or a bit of kale (do this over a few days) & he's back to square one. :(
He hasn't lost weight & eats his dry food & hay - weighed him yesterday & he was 1294g/2lb 13oz. He's been like this on & off from the day he arrived a year ago.

Any ideas on what i can do so they both get enough vit C but i keep his poops normal?

Poor Albie :smitten:

Someone here will be able to advise you soon, Niki

awwww Albie :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Dam Niki it's a worry isn't it, i don't know, perhaps Mary or Karen will be on and can advise O0

Sending lots of loooooves and :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: to help Albie :smitten:

I'm not overly worried about him, he's no different in himself, he still chirps & trots round his hutch & isn't ill. It's just not nice for him or Maddie to be walking in cow pats - i clean them up every day & then i end up iced in poop :smitten: :smitten:

Could you feed Maddie separately for a little veggie feed?

I could & i have given her green stuff away from Albie but it's his face, he knows what i'm doing cos he can smell it & i get the most doleful of looks, he makes me feel guilty :(

OH :( :( :(

Yeah well i'd feel guilty too, it is the look they give you, you just melt don't you :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

They do & he sits on his shelf with his big jowls & the puppy dog eyes as if to say "i can see you" ;D ;D

I'm going to get him firm again & then give him a single piece of "green stuff" per day & see which one makes him loose then i'll know which one to avoid.
Someone has said celery could be the cause & tbh that never entered my head :(

Now don't get down on yourself love, each piggie is different... awwwww Albie you're such a worry for your mummy :( :( :( but she loooooves you sooooo much :smitten:

Awww bless poor Albie :smitten:
Yes I think maybe try just one type of veg/salad at a time and see what happens after. You then may be able to isolate the ones that give him soggy poops and avoid those. Worth a try :) Does he like banana? A little of that may counteract the stuff that causes the cow pats ;D

Have you tried arrow root?.Mix approx.half a teaspoonful with water to a "soup", and give 1 ml twice a day.

I haven't Mary, you are a star - thanks so much O0  I've used arrowroot before on the dogs & cats in the past, it never entered my head for piggies 98)
