Alfalfa hay has too much calcium in and should only be given to pregnant pigs.
Lentils and Beans I wouldn't as they are pulses.
Nectarines are fine but in small amounts because too many can cause mouth sores.

Not sure about Snow Pea Sprouts. Normal Sprouts are fine in moderation as they are gassy. :)

I've read that beans (as in dried beans) and lentils are poisonous. Perhaps someone can clarify? :-\

ooooh I'm sure i got a bag full and before i gave them to my lot i posted on here to see if they were ok and they said they was so i gave them to them and they LOVED them :P (I'm talking about long green things look like pea pods with big pea things inside)

Oh green beans are fine, infact my lot are eating them right now. ;D It's the dried beans I was talking about. I don't think they are safe. :)

green beans ? i have no idea ;D will someone post piccie up of them and see whats the difference :P

I think runner beans are more stringy but there isn't a great deal of difference. Its the beans you get in tinned beans and the like which are not good foods to give. :)

I don't feed any thing with alfalfa in to mine but have grown it as a treat for them. Most dry mixes contain alfalfa (and pellets), Cavy Cuisine is Timothy based :)

Wouldn't feed lentils or beans.

Nectarines mine get occasionaly, never had trouble with mouth sores, but they hardly have them. ::)

Snow Peas yes as a treat, have grown these too and the guins loved them when they were about 10 days (the pea greens, not the pigs LOL!)

May i ask why ? ? Mine LOVE them and ive read everywhere that they can eat them :) When i got a bag full of them i even posted on here to ask about them(better safe than sorry) and most people said you can feed them 0:)

Karen I think we are all confused by beans ;D do you mean bean pulses, I'm sure you do. Green beans and runner beans etc are ok aren't they? ;)

Yes, the bean pulses.
Runner beans are OK as a treat but I think the actual bean is toxic, have never beeen 100% on this though. Mine get the fine green beans occasionaly, but thats it, wrong calcium to phosphorus ratio again. Beans are very high in Phosphorus- as they are a 'fruit' of the plant ::)

ILA maybe they are safe, I wouldn't feed them though because I'm not convinced they're that good for them, do you feed dry pulses then?
