Hello! I have bought an alfalfa wreath treat for my guinea pigs from pets at home and have been reading that alfalfa is not good for guinea pigs unless they are babies or lactating. I have bought it before and my guinea pig enjoyed it, is it okag as an occasional treat?

I bought something similar recently for Pippin and she just has a nibble odd times when she is in her run... not fussed by it lol

They love it! But I would cut the ties off and put it in a hay feeder, a few years ago Bella got tied up in it and was screaming the house down as it got tight and we had to cut her out of it. She was okay but I dread to think what would have happened if we weren’t home, it got tighter the more she struggled to get out.

They still enjoy it as an occasional treat but we always cut off the ties and put it in their hay bag now!

Haha yeah one of my guinea pigs loved it but the others don't seem to bothered by it 😂

Oh god that’s terrible, thank god you were home and she knew to shout for you.
