It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing of Alfie, I'm getting ready for work, I'll add more later. :(

Oh no, @BossHogg I am so sorry to read this. Popcorn free gorgeous Alfie. Hugs to you and Mrs Hogg (and of course the lovely lady piggies too) xx

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this Boss. Huge hugs! Sleep tight little Alfie, run free!

BIG HUGS

I am so sorry!
RIP Alfie - you have done for him what you could.

We got Alfie on 20th December 2014 as a new hutch mate for Lola, who was on her own after losing her hutchmates Angel and Rebel. He was adopted from BARC, he was soon missed by @pig in the city as he was a very friendly little dude. He and Lola hit it off immediately and a beautiful friendship was born. That new friendship was to be short lived, 3 months after they were paired, we lost Lola to a massive tumour. He was paired up with 2 vocal ladeez, Stella and Luna and they had their own topic on here. Life was bliss for the threesome, their own spacious hutch in a warm shed, access to a secure garden with unlimited grass, they were very contented piggies. We added Sadie to his tribe in September, a very shy piggy, Alfie took her under his wing and she soon was accepted by the others. In November I noticed he was starting to lose weight, towards the end of the month, he was still losing weight despite him getting plenty of good food. The vet checked him over and couldn't find anything wrong. Thinking it may be some type of infection, he was giving appropriate meds. Alfie being the laid back dude, took his meds with no problems to start with, a further appointment was made with the elite exotic vet Vicki and she cast her expert eye over him, she could find nothing wrong and weighed him. To my relief, he had put 2 ounces on, over the following week, he continued to gain weight slowly. He was always at the front of the queue come feeding time - swinging on the hutch mesh whilst his 3 ladeez sang behind him! This was the same scene every morning in the BossHogg beastie mansion. This morning, he was as perky as usual - head buried in the food, MrsHogg left them eating and came back into the house. I went out an hour later to give him his daily meds, he was laying on his side, unable to stand, he raised his head to look at me, I picked him up, he was very limp, took him straight into the house and called MrsHogg. She came into the kitchen, and once he saw the pair of us together, he let out a big breath and he was gone - It's as if he wanted to say goodbye to both us at the same time. He was cremated this morning shortly afterwards, his ashes will be scattered on his favourite garden. He was a fantastic piggy who will be missed big time, he leaves a massive void in our hearts! Night night la'al dude, we'll always love you. :(

Alfie sounds like the most amazing pig, and we all know what a wonderful life he lived as husboar of the bosshogg tribe.
So sorry for your loss, but it was lovely to hear that his passing was peaceful, and he was surrounded by the people who loved him the most.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss, Boss... Sending you tons of hugs.

Popcorn free lovely Alfie x

So very sad, and how touching that he waited to say goodbye. He was such a special boy and I am so happy that he had the wonderful life he had with you and his ladies. R.I.P Alfie. Gone but never forgotten x

He clearly loved you all and knew how much you loved him, too. You were fortunate that he waited to say his goodbyes, but I know that doesn't make it any easier. I really am so sorry xx

Very eerie in the shed this morning, Christine (MrsHogg) went out to feed them, no Alfie swinging on the mesh with the girls singing. They were sat waiting for their food patiently and quiet, very subdued. Christine burst out crying, its going to take a while to get used to the fact he's gone, he saw out his days in a loving home and died surrounded by his two biggest fans. :(

Really sorry for your loss :bye::soz:
Massive hugs to you and the missus and the rest of his herd that sounds like they are missing him

Tom, I am so sorry mate. Alfie had the most caring of homes with you and Mrs Hogg. He waited for you before he left, I hope that gives you a little comfort. Huge hugs x

Sleep well little dude

RIP Alfie
x x

Just thought, apart from a couple of weeks between Rebel dying and collecting Alfie, this is the first time since summer 2008 that the Hogg piggydom hasn't had a male leader! :(
