Hey,

Popped into P@H today for the dog food, and was checking out their adoption centre when we spotted a GORGEOUS little one year old (ish) boy piggie in there by the name of Ben. Mum has fallen totally in love with him and is planning on picking him up when he's out of quarantine.

Anyway - they say that he HAS to be kept alone as he was apparently fighting with his old cage mate. This seems really sad, as he is a beautiful boy and so so friendly (we pop in most days now and he runs up to the front of his cage when we go and see him :D).....

Could we see if there is a local rescue and see if we can pair him with another boar, or is he to old/young? Or could we look into getting him neutered and pair him with a lady friend?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the best option? He will get a ton of snuggles, but it seems sad that he would be on his own :(

if he is a year you could take him to a rescue and try and pair him up with a friend, or try him with a baby boar but again i would still go to a rescue. 1 year olds are easier to pair up then 4-11 months old i believe.

:)you could have him neutered and get a sow they may still fight but the chance of that happening is less

If you decide to get this guinea pig, a rescue would certainly help find a mate, however they would want him quarantined for at least two weeks before introductions. xx
