I dont often post pigtures of Pepe and Minty.
I do take lots of photos of them but because of their dark faces I often find one or both of them ends up fuzzy!

Minty on the right came to me as a foster piggie under weight and bald patches from mites found wandering he street last October - he is such a friendly boy.

Pepe - on the left came in December he had been living at Tracey's from BARC for a month before I had room to take him on. Just before the terrible snow of last Nov. Pepe had been seen by a old chap visiting his garden.
So the kind man rigged up a 'trap' made of a milk crate and string and sat for 3 days trying to capture him.

On New Years eve, Minty and Pepe wanted to become friends, they sat having cuddles one on my knee one on my daughters and Pepe wanted to investigate the other piggie that was crunching away on his carrot. So Pepe crawled off my daughters knee tucked his head under Minty and Minty proceeded to lick his head and groom him, that night I became a failed foster carer :)

All is not what it seems? Well.... doesnt Pepe (on the left) look all sweetness and light when it comes to cuddles? He is such a bossy britches with Minty, always chasing and humping and swinging his hips in his direction...but I tell you what, they truely love each other..one is never with out the other. Actually they look very similar in coat style and colour too !

Although sometimes poor old Minty looks like the under dog he is really the protected of Pepe... and Pepe knows it...these two boars have a very special friendship

Each of them was found wandering; I can't imagine. I've never seen an unsupervised guinea pig outdoors. Maybe they are not that common as pets around here so people don't throw them out. Lord knows they throw everything else out, which is why I have 6 cats and 3 dogs and have rescued tens more of each. Minty looks very good to have been all mite-bitten and patchy. You must know how to revive them.

I've never personally seen a stray Guinea Pig either, but we have plenty that are handed in to the rescue -
The recent pair Kev & Perry were also found in a garden of someone which has fields backing up to it. Our thoughts were that some one had let them free in the field? I do have awful thoughts of wondering how many more might have been adandoned and never found.

Minty was in the street and a lady took him into the vets -He has such a trusting nature my thoughts were that someone once loved him.

Stray animals that come into the rescue are put on to the 'lost & found' register in case an owner is looking for him/her.

Many many rabbits are also found dumped, down walking paths or the side of the road usually with an open cardboard box nearby. :(

That would be my thought also. My cat, Kit, that I posted pictures of in the "other pets" section (all of mine are rescues), is that way, so I think he was some child's kitten that got thrown out. I am sure this happens worldwide, that the children have a pet, but the adults don't want to take care of it, or the adults want to "teach the child a lesson" so they take the pet away from the child and throw it out. These people just don't understand that any living creature can suffer. Minty Pig will especially be in my thoughts.

It really breaks my heart to hear of somebody just letting a poor vulnerable guinea pig loose like that. Thank goodness they are safe and happy with you. They are really stunning boars. They look so healthy and it is so sweet they are friends.

What a heartwarming story! they truly look like they were meant for each other! I don't think that I would have been able to resist them, either!

A story with a happy ending, they are both x) x) They are very lucky to have found there way into each others and your life.
