All three piggies have gained 50Grams

Fred, Wilma and Pebbles have all gained in and around 50 Grams in fairness they are all under 1000 Grams but are coming up to two so fully grown the girls have recently came to me last sunday I'm presuming the weight gain is a good thing what do you think?
 
I'd say it's a good thing in so much as they are happy and settled so enjoying their food and gaining. So long as they don't present as becoming overweight I'd say it's a great indicator as to everyone being content.
 
It depends, really. Have you altered their diet? Have you been feeding them more? Have they been eating more?

However, it is not unusual for cavies to gain weight over the winter period.
 
A guinea pig gaining weight when in new company is a very good sign! As all of them are on the small side, it means that they are truly happy and their body is answering to that. Guinea pigs can have a growth spurt even as adults, if they haven't reached their full size when growing up.
 
Sounds to me like you are doing it right. YAY for Fred gaining weight, he lost some when he was lonely didn't he?
 
I think that's great news, I know you've been worried about their weight so this is brilliant news. 50g is equal to aroundabout 2oz which is a fair gain. One of my senior girls also gained a much needed 48g this week, I'm relieved to have her back over 1kg!

I did get your text last night Joanne, but it was about 2 seconds before I dropped the phone into the bath, so until the phone is sorted I'm a bit stuck! :{
 
Fred weighed 878 ... he is now 917
Wilma was 815...is now 884
Pebbles 948 and is now 984 going from memory so all have gained around 50grams!

The girls food has been changed they are now on nuggets, and all 3 get healthy portions of veg! Obviously they have new friends too! :)
 
In this case, I would not be concerned, Joanne. However, I am inclined to believe that they may continue to gain in weight, particularly Fred.
 
I think Fred was lonely previously, he has put on what he has lost and more! I think they will continue gaining weight, as all 3 I think are particually lightweight piggies especially Fred, but I'm happy they are gaining :)!
