Allergies

I didnt know where to put this but i thought i would put it in here even thought it isnt about the pigs themselves.

I have become allergic to my piggies!
I have been getting rashes over various parts of my body, and have read online that the type of rash is associated with pets.

Apparently in guinea pigs its the urine.

Does anyone else allergic to their piggies? Anyone know anything? Would antihistamines work?

The last thing i want to do is get rid of my boys! 8...

Naturally, it needs to be confirmed that you have an allergy to cavies, before exhausting all avenues and making any difficult decisions.

If you don't already, try a dose of piriton/piritese on yourself. It's a broad based allgeries medicine. It worked a treat when I had a reaction to my dog.

Also consider thinking of buying a cuddle pocket for your piggies? They're in a fuffly 'pocket' and minimal skin contact is made. Chucklebunnies do some good ones.

Also may be work out when your piggy needs a pee then you don't get covered. My pigs pull at my clothing to let me know. Although Chocolate does this anyway because he doesn't want me to hold him. he would rather I chase him! LOL

Also, I am sure you do, but put gloves and a mask on when you muck out your pigs.
