Hi,

I am a little concerned about my 2 Girls..they are sisters and always been together, they are nearly 4 months old, but they don't seem too close, they don't snuggle together and there is a lot of head butting and rumble strutting, i have had to buy 2 of everything to stop handbags at dawn.

Cocoa is more dominent than Ollie but she will winge an awful lot at her..lots of head raising.

What i am concerned about is as they are coming upto 4 months will it get worse and a fight break out or would that of happened by now.

I keep my eye on them but i worry about when i cant.
 
some piggies aren't close i had 2 sets of sisters and neither were close. head butting, rumbling and teeth chattering is all normal dominance behaviour.

just keep an eye on them you should be ok.

how big is their cage? do they get time out of the cage to run around?

Yes they have a 3 storie cage and they have a run that i attach to the bottom each day so they can go in at there liesure..they popcorn a lot when i open it up.

They have a large cage and 2 of everything.

I was wondering if i should bath them together to bond them.
 
thats ok just because they are not together all the time doesnt mean they aren't bonded. i found with one set of sisters they were never together but if they were out of the cage they wouldn't leave each other. out of 7 piggies i dont have any 2 which sleep next to each other but they all get on together with the occasional dominance displays and the youngest girl (6 months) humping the boy (2 years) when she is in season really funny to watch.

i wouldnt bath them unless they need bathing.
 
Yes i have noticed when i take 1 out for cuddles they both wheek at each other and cant wait to be back with the other.

I did both of them together but they were a nightmare..running all over the place.
 
i wouldnt worry about them at all it may be that the under sow is fed up and is wanting to be top sow, but this is unlikely to happen, it should all settle down. the fact they are wheeking for each other means they are bonded.
 
Yes i do think Ollie wants to be top sow but Cocoa is just too much lol..she is not having any of it...I noticve Cocoa pee's in Ollies face...i think she's sooo rude :(|)
 
oh i love it when they do that :) fluff is the only piggy i see doing it but she does it to anypiggy that gets to close to her rear end. i beleive its there way of say pi**off :)

Cocoa did it to my son..my son was sat away from the cage playing his ps3..he wears headphones so there was no noise upsetting cocoa, then suddenly he felt something hit his face on the side..he looked across and there was Cocoa sitting on the shelf. :))
 
Ollie chirps in the early hours..i wish i knew what it means :)
 
awww i haven't been caught but the other piggies have :)

i have a chirper to usually at about 3am! mallethead you should feel very privileged not many people hear it. but still not sure what it means i just feel lucky.
 
Its a lovely sound x) I read it can be stress but i dont believe Ollie is stressed..unless the pee in face does it :(|)
 
i think i read it is done as a warning for something, but i dont know. :)
 
Just wanted to say i had the exact same problem, my girls are sisters, theyr nearly 8months old now but when i first got them they were always squabbling.

They seem to have just kind of gotten used to each other, the main thing is that they have plenty of room and like you say two of everything.
If i leave just 1 pigloo in their cage now it sets them off eyeing each other up for the spot inside it!

Yes they squabble over every thing..even though there is 2 of everything..what the other one wants to go in..house..hammock hay rack they both want the same one..i despair i really do lol

They even look like thier kissing when they take food from each others mouth.
